[Jolse] NAKEUP FACE Stress 0 Toner 500ml Review

Hello everyone! It has been way too long since my last post! Hee hee. Things have been quite busy now that I am officially studying again for the MCAT 😭

Anyways, I have a special review for you guys!

I, the one person that never gets picked for any giveaways, was miraculously picked and was gifted this NAKEUP FACE Stress 0 Toner from Jolse.com!

I have been an avid fan of Jolse.com for a while now and I was so thankful to have been selected as their reviewer.

I also am a HUGE fan of toners! I have tried my fair share of toners and I was very excited to try this toner out.

This is the NAKEUP FACE Stress 0 toner. It contains 90% Sea Water and it claims to be a calming, balancing toner for smooth, refreshed skin. It also claims that it is suitable for all ages. It comes in a clear see-through plastic bottle and honestly the packaging is so up my alley 😍😍 its just so chic and simple heehee

It also is quite big. I mean there is a LOT of product! 500ml! The dispenser isn’t too bad. The hole is small enough that not a lot pours out but big enough to get a decent amount out to apply.

Clear and very much water-like 💧

The consistency of this toner is similar to the Thayers Witch Hazel toner in that it is very watery. These types of toners are very nice for layering. Layering means to apply the toner more than once to saturate the face.

This toner is unscented which is very good for sensitive skin. I am usually quite keen to scents, I mean I could smell the aloe from the Unscented Thayers toner, but this Stress 0 toner has no scent that I can detect.

Watery 💦

It really feels like I am just putting on water but unlike water, it leaves my skin feeling really replenished and moisturized. I was very surprised.

When I first applied this toner, it was on a very cold day and my skin was quite dehydrated.

I layered this toner on three times and my face seemed to just drink up the product and retain that moisture. I was very intrigued so that night, I didn’t put on any moisturizer but layered on this toner five times (which I know is excessive) just to see if my face would feel tight or dry throughout the night.

To my surprise, my face felt fine. I mean it didn’t feel hydrated like it would have been with a sleeping mask, but my face felt like I had slept with a light moisturizer on! It didn’t feel tight, I didn’t see any dry patches!

I know I haven’t tried ALL the watery toners that is on the market but so far, out of all the ones that I have tried, this is definitely the best watery toner! I was so blown away at how it kept my face hydrated that I would reach for this constantly verses my other toners.

Very hydrating 🚰

And since it is safe for sensitive skin, it did not break me out at all. Even when I had an open wound (due to a popped pimple 😑 ) it didn’t sting! I received this product as a gift from Jolse.com around March 6th or so and I have been using it religiously ever since.

On cold mornings, I would layer this toner on at least 3 times and then go in with a daily moisturizer and my face feels hydrated all day! I can definitely see myself just use this toner on those lazy summer days without a moisturizer as well!

I highly recommend this toner if you are looking for a good layering toner!

*Disclaimer: I was not paid by Jolse or by NAKEUP FACE to do this review. The product was sent to me as a gift for an honest review.

Thank you so much for reading if you got this far and I hope to write to you soon!

Bye!! 👋🏻

Monthly Makeup Commitment: December 2018

It is already December. Gosh. Time flies so fast. I’m pretty sure I just posted my November one and now it’s already December. And then soon it will be 2019! Goodness, gracious! Welp. Let’s get started!

The theme of this month is simple bling haha. I wanted to keep my eye look pretty simple and basic but with a lot of bling and glitter since it is the Holidays. I usually don’t have themes for each month, I just go with the flow but I thought it’d be nice to have an actual fixed makeup look or theme for each month…we’ll see if I feel like this next year but 🤷🏻‍♀️

As per usual, I will start with the face makeup.

I will be using my little MAC Strobe Cream. This was a sample size that I got and have forgotten about. I’ve always been meaning to try it but I forgot about it and so now I am using it haha…

MAC Strobe Cream

This is a pearly base product that leaves the skin with a slight pearly tint. It doesn’t show up too much (maybe because I use a pretty small amount). I really like this product. It goes on like a moisturizer and it isn’t too greasy so it sinks into the skin very well. It does leave a slight glow to my skin. I don’t really know if this acts as a primer to prolong my face makeup though…

Moving on to concealer! I really want to see the end of this concealer. I know I should rotate to the NARS concealer that I have but I have hit pan on this concealer and I am very adamant on finishing it. This is the Glossier Stretch Concealer in Light.

Glossier Stretch Concealer in Light

This is a very light to medium (if you apply more layers) hydrating concealer. I say hydrating because it is very sheer and watery. It isn’t greasy at all. I use a damp sponge to blend it out on my face which makes it super glowy and hydrating. But when I am too lazy to go to the bathroom to wet my sponge, I will just use the dry sponge. But the concealer is pretty hydrating so it still blends out well and leaves a slightly dewy look to the skin. It isn’t as dewy as using a damp sponge, but it still is dewy.

It doesn’t have a full coverage like it does not cover my dark circles at all. I still like it because though it doesn’t cover up my skin, it gives the skin a more even look to it. Like my skin but better and healthier.

Next is powder. I want to keep my face pretty dewy, so I have only been powdering around my hairline and jawline, like the outskirts of my face. This is to prevent my bronzer from being all splotchy. I will use the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.

Rimmel Stay Matte

This powder is a very nice powder. Nothing much to say. Very matte. Very nice.

Moving on to bronzer. Now, I am still using my broken and very savagely filled too cool for school art class by Rodin. I did want to just toss it because it literally looks like gravel and it breaks my heart everytime I open it. But, I don’t want to waste it since there is quite a lot of product left. 😭

It hurts my heart. I know you’re supposed to fix it with rubbing alcohol but I didn’t have any so I just used my toner. And I think it somehow sort of changed the formula. It isn’t as pigmented as it used to be and it definitely isn’t as soft as it used to be. But I kind of like that it isn’t too pigmented so it gives more room for errors.

Next is blush. I will be using my Benefit Dandelion blush. This is a soft pink blush with a slight shimmer.

This blush is a cult favorite and for a very good reason. I don’t typically like pink blushes but this one is very soft and kind of mimics how my cheeks get normally so I like it. When I am kind of dark in the summer though, this color doesn’t show up too much.

For my highlight, I will be using an oldie but a goodie. This is the e.l.f. cosmetics baked blush in Pinktastic. This shade is too light to be a blush but it is the perfect amount of pink sheen to work as a highlighter.

e.l.f. cosmetics Baked Blush in Pinktastic

I’ve had this for a very long time and I really love using this. It is very finely milled and so it doesn’t emphasize the texture on my face. It leaves a pinky, pearly sheen to my face and I really like it.

Here is a swatch of the bronzer, blush, and highlighter in natural daylight.

Moving on to eyes!

For eyebrows, nothing has changed since the last month. I will be using the three brow products I mentioned in the last month’s post.

These are Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Powder Eyebrow & 3D Nose in #03 Ash Brown, Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Gel Eyebrow Liner in #01 Natural Brown, and Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Coloring Eyebrow #04, Natural Brown.

I really like these Kiss Me products. It lasts all day long and it doesn’t budge! I like the powder product just to fill in the sparse areas of my brows and I use the pencil to outline my brows. The coloring browcara is very good and tinting my brow hairs to a bit of a softer color. I highly recommend the Kiss Me products, they are very good.

For eyeshadows, I will be using three products.

The first product that I will be using (and hoping to finish) the Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Wattles.

Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Wattles

This is a really nice pink brown color. I just sort of use this shade as an all over lid color for a simple, quick, daily look. It is really a nice color to use on the go. I love traveling with this shade because honestly, this color is all you need. I have hit pan on this color a long time ago and I really want to finish it. I think I can…

And in case I do run out of Wattles, I wanted a backup eyeshadow to use. So as a backup I will be using the IBY Three’s Company eyeshadow trio. I actually used this in my last year’s December M.M.C.

This is a very pigmented, easy to use trio. I have hit pan on the cream and the brown shade because I have been using this trio every time I had to travel. The palette is so small and the three colors go very well together to create an easy everyday neutral brown look.

So this will be my backup eyeshadow when I run out of Wattles.

And for the bling look, I will be using my favorite glitter product: Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in Kitten Karma.

Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in Kitten Karma

This is a gorgeous champagne liquid eyeshadow with a lot of silver glitters. It adds a very festive look to the eye and I will just dot the applicator on to my lids a couple of times and spread the product with my pinky. When this product sets, it does not move so you have to work quite fast. Every time I use this, my heart glows because it is so pretty.

Here is a swatch of the three eyeshadow products in natural daylight:

For eyeliner, I am still using my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Mad Max Brown. And for mascara, I will be using the infamous, Kiss Me Heroine Make Long & Curl Super Waterproof Mascara in #01 Jet Black. That’s a mouthful.

Kiss Me Heroine Make Long & Curl Mascara and Kat Von D Tattoo liner in Mad Max Brown

This mascara is so good! I can see why so many people like it. The wand is perfect for Asian eyes! It is small enough to get through every lash and the mascara itself is a very light texture that coats the lashes very well. The formula is light and so it keeps my lashes curled all day and the best part. It does not smudge.

Over time, every drugstore mascara I used, left a smudge on the lower portion of my eye. Even my favorite L’Oreal Lash Paradise would eventually leave a black smudge on my lower lash line and near my eye bags at the end of the day (or even within a few hours if I am super oily). But this Kiss Me mascara! OMG. I am converted. 🙌🏻

Now on to the lips!

I will rotate between four lip products. The first product is a tint that I will use as a base lip product. It is also quite easy to apply and use on the go or just on the daily. It is the Colorgram Thunder Bolt Lip Lacquer in #5 Crush on Pink.

Colorgram Thunder Bolt Lip Lacquer in #5 Crush on Pink

This is a nice daily pink shade. It is a neon shade but if you apply one layer it is really a brighter version of my lips but better. It sort of lightens up the face and adds a nice glowy look. I will link my complete review on the Colorgram Lip Lacquers here.

Another tint that I have been loving and have been using for the past couple of days is this Peripera Ink the Velvet in #14 Beauty Peak Rose.

Peripera Ink the Velvet in #14 Beauty Peak Rose

This is another MLBB lip but this one is much more on the rosy side. It is a corally rose shade and I really love this shade. It reminds me of the lip colors that Jennie from Blackpink wears. She really likes the peachy, salmony lip colors and this is a pretty similar color to the ones she likes.

The formula of this product is really nice. It is a bit thicker in texture than the Colorgram’s but it goes on pretty velvety and leaves a nice matte finish. It isn’t uncomfortable at all. It glides on to the lips pretty well and lasts for a long period since it is a tint.

Next is the mini lipstick sample of the Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Creme in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I got this mini lipstick a long time ago from Sephora, I think it was a birthday gift or something like that.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Creme in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

I have only a small amount of it left. It is a gorgeous deep rose shade that has been living in my purse. I decided to get it out and really make it a priority to use it all up.

The last lip option will be a deep red lip. This is MAC Cosmetics Lee Hi.

MAC Cosmetics Lee Hi

This is a deep warm red that screams Christmas. I will definitely be wearing this lipstick on Christmas. I love this color and it really does pain me that this lipstick is a limited edition lipstick. I wish they bring this color back. 😭😭

Here is a picture of the swatches in natural daylight:

And that is it for December 2018 M.M.C. I will be filming a routine video to go along with this post soon 😊😊

Thank you so much for reading if you got this far and I hope you have a wonderful December and a wonderful end of the year!

Monthly Makeup Commitment: November 2018

I honestly cannot believe it is November already! Thanksgiving is just around the corner, then Christmas, then it will be 2019! OMG. It feels like just yesterday that I was writing my New Years Resolution for 2018. And now…it’s time to copy and paste my resolutions for 2019 LOL.

Anyways, I am back with my Monthly Makeup Commitment for November. This purpose of this post is basically to limit myself to using these products and these products only for the entire month. This will hopefully 🤞🏻 prevent me from buying more makeup. And despite the Sephora VIB sale, I did not buy any makeup from Sephora…I bought makeup from Walmart. 🙃

LET’S BEGIN! I will start in order of how I do my makeup!

Because November is a bit chilly here in Houston, I am going to skip over primer. The only primer I have in my collection is the pore filling primer and I want to keep the moisture on my face as much as possible so I am just going into concealer after skincare.

I will continue to use my Glossier Stretch Concealer in Light.

Glossier Stretch Concealer in Light

I am actually proud of myself because I made quite the dent in this product since last month. I have been using it every day and it honestly is a great concealer to just throw on to give a very natural look to the face. Even though I work from home, I still have to show my face to my students (I am a VIPKID teacher – I plan to do a blog post regarding my VIPKID teacher journey so stay tuned if you’re interested). So I just quickly apply this concealer very early in the morning and I look somewhat put together.

One thing I have noticed with this concealer though is that when I used my pore blurring primer, it sort of sat funny on my face. It sank into my smile lines and around the crevices around my eyes and nose so I think this product goes better on the bare skin. You also have to pat it in pretty well.

To set my concealer I will use my one and only powder, Rimmel Stay Matte.

Rimmel Stay Matte

Since this is a very mattifying powder, I will be very sparing with this product. Like I said, I want to keep the moisture on my face as much as possible. I will just sweep my brush once and use that to set the concealer under my eyes and the rest of my face without re-dipping my brush into the powder.

Then I move onto bronzer. I will be using my too cool for school art class by Rodin bronzer. I am so sad. Like literally my soul cried out. I dropped the compact and it literally shattered out of the pan. So I gathered the crushed powder and tried to sort of mush it back together with my toner. It looks disastrous and gross and it looks I completely ruined it (which I probably did) but it honestly works fine. I just have to be careful not to drop this again.

This has such a nice undertone. It is not too orange or grey. It is perfect for yellow undertones and is the perfect color to contour and just shade around the face. This is called the “National shading product” in Korea. It is really easy to use because it has three shades in the pan. It has a very light shade, a medium cool tone shade, and a deeper warm shade. When mixed it becomes a really nice neutral brown shade. I usually just swirled my brush to all the shades anyway so its fine that I broke it…is what I try to tell myself…😭

Next is blush! My favorite! This month I will be using my Clinique Cheek pop in Sorbet pop.

Clinique Cheek pop in Sorbet Pop

This is the shade that is I believe only available in Korea(?) or in Asia(?) not sure. Four new shades were released in Korea that was suited for Korean skin tones. The four shades were also in collaboration with four Korean beauty YouTubers and this was one of the shade. Sorbet pop was in collaboration with Sunny from Sunny Channel on YouTube. I love Sunny and when I saw this shade, I wanted it right away. I bought it off of eBay from a seller in Korea and I absolutely love it.

It is a very pastel orangey-coral shade that just brightens up the face. Now, if I wear this color during the summer when I am more tan, it will probably not show up on my face. But when I am paler in the wintertime, it translates into a beautiful light coral shade. I love it.

For my highlight, I will be using the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne pop.

This is a gorgeous golden champagne color that was created with Jaclyn Hill. I have loved this thing forever. The formula of this product is so fine that it does not emphasize my texture at all. It just gives a gorgeous sheen to the cheekbones and the color suits my skin tone very well. I love this highlighter. I think this is my favorite out of all my highlighters in my collection.

Swatches on my arm in natural light:

Now moving onto my eyes. Let’s start with eyebrows, shall we?

I think my Glossier Boy Brow has given up on me. It no longer works as it once did and kind of just clumps up and it is quite hard to get the product out. I mean I’ve been using it faithfully every day for about 5 months so I guess its about time it runs out.

So I bought new eyebrow products from Walmart. I was watching this Korean beauty YouTuber that I recently found Jo Hyojin, 조효진님. She is so funny and I just fell in love with her personality that I was immediately hooked. She did one video that was sponsored by Kiss Me.

Kiss Me is a Japanese brand that is really popular in Asia and they are quite known for their mascara and eyebrow products. I really wanted to try their mascara for a long time but I didn’t want to buy it unless I used up my current mascara. So naturally, I just bought the three eyebrow products that she recommended in her video. These are the products that I purchased from Walmart. I was pretty surprised that Walmart carried these…although I had to order it online.

The first one is the Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Powder Eyebrow & 3D Nose in #03 Ash Brown.

This was the shade that Hyojin used to fill in her eyebrows and contour her nose with. IT LOOKED SO NATURAL AND SO GOOD I just HAD to buy it. The colors are not too pigmented when I swatched it but I think that is good because you don’t want it to be too strong of a color when you apply it to your brows. It can definitely be built up when you apply more but I really love how natural it makes my brows look. I love how the shade also has a bit of an ashy/shadow color because it really mimics the color of the shadow around the nose.

The next product that she recommended was the Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Gel Eyebrow Liner. I got mine in the shade #01 Natural Brown.

This is the product that I was most excited for. She explained in her video that this product is too good to be only used for the brow. Because of how it glides on so smoothly onto the skin, she used it also to line her eyes. And this product is super long lasting. Like I tried wiping it off with a wet paper towel and it did not budge AT ALL. I had to remove it with a makeup remover. And this was a few minutes right after I swatched it. This is an incredible product. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a long lasting brow product.

The last brow product that she highly raved about a LOT in her channel is the Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Coloring Eyebrow. I got mine in the shade #04 Natural Brown.

She said that this was her favorite browcara ever and the product that she always goes back to. These browcara products are used to basically coat and change the brow hair colors so that it looks more natural. It is also used to set the brow product in place for a prolonged wear.

And now onwards to eyeshadow! This month I will be using my favorite eyeshadow palette in my collection: The Jaclyn Hill Palette from Morphe.

It is so beautiful. Sometimes, whenever I feel the urge to buy eyeshadows, I pop this bad boy out and I just stare at it. And then, all my urges to buy more eyeshadows disappears because to me this is all I need. It has all the neutral shades that I ever need and some other shades that I don’t think I need but I need. Ya know?

I love using this palette. All the colors are super pigmented and they blend beautifully. I have swatched all the colors but because I am #basic I tend to gravitate towards the neutral shades. I want to play more with the warm red shades and the deeper copper tones and the purple and the blue shades but I’m scared. Hee Hee 😬

And to finish off my eyes, I will be using my Kat Von D Tattoo liner in Mad Max Brown and L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara.

Kat Von D Tatoo liner and L’Oreal Lash Paradise

Nothing to be said here. These two products are a staple in my makeup collection.

Swatches on my arm in natural light:

The Jaclyn Hill Palette (the shades that I use the most)

And now onto the Lips 👄!!

I will be rotating between four products this month. It’s actually just three lip looks since I am pairing the first two products together.

I will be using the Colorgram Thunderbolt Lip Lacquer in #6 Chili Bolt with MAC Chili. These two give such a gorgeous bold look to the lips and I love wearing these two with a very simple eye look.

Colorgram #6 Chili Bolt and MAC Chili

I have done a whole review on the Colorgram tints that you can read here. And this tint has a brick orange base to it that suits really well with the warm red-brown Chili color.

I will also be using the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Aquarius.

Colourpop Lippie Stix in Aquarius

This will be the nude option for whenever I want to go that all natural, soft look. This is a beautiful pink beige that leans pretty beige on my lips. It is a light version of an MLBB shade on me. The formula of this Lippie Stix is a creme finish so it is quite moisturizing though it does not last too long.

The fourth lip product that I will be wearing this month is actually the color that I have been wearing for most of this month. It is the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Devotion.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Devotion

This is the perfect MLBB color for my skin tone and is really pretty close to my actual lip color except this color has a bit more rosy tone to it that really brightens up my face. I have been really enjoying this lip product. It is matte as it advertises but it is super comfortable to wear and is pretty moisturizing too (for a matte).

It has a lovely velvety texture that reminds me a lot of the Peripera Ink the Velvet. But this product is not a tint so it doesn’t stain your lips and is quite easy to remove. It also lasts a while on my lips. It is not transfer-proof and will leave residue behind when you drink from a cup but I love the color so much I don’t mind re-applying. I definitely recommend this color!

Swatches on my arm in natural light:

So this is it for my Monthly Makeup Commitment post for November 2018. I can’t wait until December…I have an inkling that it might snow again here in Houston. 🤞🏻😆

Thank you so much for reading this long post if you got this far. And definitely let me know if you have tried any of these products and how you feel about them. I’d love to know!

Here is a video accompaniment to this post. It is not a tutorial…more like how I use these products heehee.

Massive Recent (?) Haul: first half of 2018

Hello everyone!

I have been meaning to post this massive haul for a while because I have accumulated a lot of stuff since January (even though I said I was not going to buy any more makeup haha… RIP My Bank Account)

Since most of these products were hauls from earlier this year, I have used them quite thoroughly and some I even finished…with that said, I do have some sort of a review/opinions on them.

OK. Let’s get started…its going to be a long post..

Also..because I bought these products at different times, the photos may not have the same background or the same filter..hope you don’t mind.

The first item that I am very proud to share with you is my vlogging camera! This was a huge purchase for me this year. I have been meaning to purchase a vlogging camera because I wanted to commit to vlogging this year. I wanted to make this year memorable and I am pretty surprised that I did actually vlog everyday so far (haven’t uploaded all of them but…)

I got the Canon G7X Mark II because this is the most popular camera that a lot of vloggers use. I like how it is so compact and easy to carry around. This was the only camera we took to our Canada trip and it was all we needed. This with our iPhone X camera = easy photos.

This camera makes vlogging so much easier and I like how it has the flip screen so that you can actually see yourself while vlogging. I haven’t played around with any of the features yet but I really like the auto-stabilizing feature.

I just wish I can vlog myself doing something fun rather than just being a hobo at home lol.

Another purchase that is not beauty or skincare related is the 방탄소년단 or BTS’s albums. I made the purchase around the time I was submitting the primary applications for medical schools (around May). I had just spent around $2000 on the primary applications and was feeling pretty depressed.

I saw that the BTS Love Yourself Tear album was on sale at Target and was debating on purchasing it. I became a fan of BTS through my ex-roomie Joanne lol…

I told my mom that I was feeling depressed that I was spending so much money on med school apps and she comforted me and told me that she will buy me the album haha I don’t know what led her to make this decision but I was all for it heehee

So we went to Target. And I came back home with not only the Tear album but also the Her album.

Yeah. LOL. No ragrats.

Alright! Let’s now start with skincare products!

I was very curious to try out the Skinfood Rice Mask Wash Off. I read various reviews on this product and it is suppose to gently exfoliate the skin as well as brighten the skin tone.

I actually really like this mask. The scent is a bit perfumy but it doesn’t smell too bad. It has small rice granules but it doesn’t hurt when you rub the product onto the face. It isn’t the hard uncooked rice granules but it feels like the rice granules that were soaked in water because it is a bit more squishy.

I am not quite sure if it exfoliates my face or brighten my complexion but it does leave my face feeling soft. I will use this product whenever I take a bath and my mom also wanted one for her bathroom so I actually purchased another one. And while I purchased a second one, I also got the Skinfood Strawberry Wash Off Mask as well. My brother wanted a mask that will really exfoliate his face because he has a lot of black heads and the review for this product was really good so I bought it.

The strawberry wash off mask smells divine. It smells like strawberry jam and it has the strawberry seeds in the product that acts as an exfoliant. It does feel much rougher than the rice off mask but not as rough as that apricot scrub thingy. It also contains sugar granules that will also aid in exfoliating.

My brother really likes this mask but he said it doesn’t help too much with his black heads. I will use this probably once a month because it does feel too rough for my skin. I’d much rather use the rice one instead.

The next two items I purchased from Sokoglam.

Above is the cute sample bag with the Neogen Cleansing water sample that I have yet to try.

I purchased the KLAVUU Pure Pearlsation Revitalizing Facial Cleansing Foam and I freaking love this product.

It was a bit expensive because I think it was around $30? However, a little will go a very long way with this product. Literally a pea sized amount is all you need for a very thick lather. It lathers really nicely and feels so velvety soft when you rub it into the face.

What I love about this product is that it does not dry out my face. I never liked using foam cleansers because I hated how it left my face all tight and dry. This cleanser does not leave my face tight! I use it after I remove my makeup with a makeup remover and I love how my face feels afterwards. I highly recommend this product!

Another product I got from Sokoglam is the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop. This product is one of the bestsellers from Klairs and so I have been wanting to try it for a while.

I honestly do not like this product. I have not noticed anything while using this product. Like it was said to reduce sunspots and brighten the skin, but whenever I applied the product, my face felt kinda hot. It also felt too greasy for my oily face and I just didn’t like using it. Also, I am not sure if it’s just me but the product seemed to turn a bit yellow. And when I looked it up online, vitamin C will turn yellow after a while which means it has deactivated. Umm..yeah so I don’t know if I should keep using it or not since I have more than half the bottle left. Maybe I’ll use it for my body rather than my face. I’m kind of scared that it might break me out. Plus it smells kind of metally or like….coppery…yeah…

Anyways…moving on to the next product.

I ran out of my eyecream and so I got the Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream. I use this product in the morning after toner and I am not quite sure if it does anything to be honest..

It is not a bad product. It has a gel like consistency and actually absorbs into the skin pretty nicely. I just don’t notice anything with this product. I probably will not repurchase this product.

The next two products are from Jolse.com. I have talked about this website before in a blog post and it is the main website where I purchase Korean Beauty and Skincare products.

I got The Face Shop The Therapy Serum Infused Oil Cleanser and The Face Shop The Therapy First Serum.

I have wanted to try oil cleansers for a while because I hated rubbing my face with cotton pads or makeup wipes. My face became pretty sensitive these days and I wanted a more gentle cleanser that will remove my makeup.

I HATE this oil cleanser. This stings my eyes so badly and it does not remove my mascara AT ALL. I wear waterproof mascara and though it claims that it removes waterproof makeup, it does not. It also tastes super chemically and I feel disgusting whenever I use this.

The First serum was known quite famously as the serum that Suzy from Miss A uses or advertised. And I think the product is ok for what it is. It is a serum but I mostly used it as a toner/essence. I would put this serum on right after cleansing my face and it hydrated my face pretty well. It had a flowery scent but it wasn’t too strong and it did not sting my face at all. It actually went on nicely and I loved how it had a pump. Much more hygienic. I actually finished this product a few weeks ago and to be honest, I don’t really miss it.

It did leave my face hydrated but I think it isn’t quite worth the price. I would rather spend a little more and get the Missha Time Revolution Essence instead because that was much more hydrating than this one. It also has a lot more product as well. I don’t know. I wasn’t disappointed with it but I also wasn’t blown away.

This sheet mask from Pure Nature was actually a gift from Jolse.com. When you purchase items from the website, they will give you samples and sometimes generously give you a free sheet mask. This sheet mask was alright. It was hydrating and was very richly soaked in essence.

The next products were something that I have been eyeing for some time now on Sephora. It is the Drunk Elephant Night Bright Duo.

This is the mini duo travel size product of the T.L.C. Framboose Glycolic Night Serum and the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil. I really like these products. I only use two pumps of each and it leaves my face feeling very hydrated and plump.

I did notice the texture on my face improving whenever I use the T.L.C. Framboose Glycolic Night Serum. I really want to get the full size but it is crazy expensive so I think once I use these little guys up, I will just repurchase them again. I don’t know. I mean if I am going to stick to these guys, then it makes sense to get the full size instead of purchasing the small ones each time since this duo wasn’t really cheap either. It was $28 for these mini duos…

I don’t know..I hate that I love these products so much…Haaa

Is there a dupe for these products? If there is please let me know.

The next product is actually a repurchase item. It is the Elta MD Broad Spectrum SPF 46 Facial Sunscreen. This is my favorite sunscreen because it is the only one that does not break me out.

It is quite pricey for the amount (I think around $32 for 48 g) but it is all worth it to me. It goes on like a moisturizer and so in the morning I will just wear this instead of wearing a moisturizer. It also contains niacinamide and zinc oxide, two ingredients known to reduce rosacea and hyperpigmentation, and it also reduces the likelihood of future breakouts. I highly recommend it for those of you with sensitive acne prone skin.

This next item is also a repurchase. I’m pretty sure I have gone through several bottles of these. I honestly was hoping to replace it with the oil cleanser but since that The Therapy oil cleanser did nothing for me I repurchased the Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water that actually removes waterproof mascara.

I don’t have much to say about this product other than that it is very dependable because it does its job like it is supposed to (unlike that oil cleanser lol i’m salty)

I also got the Simple Micellar Make-Up Remover Wipes as well. This was alright. It wasn’t as wet as the Neutrogena ones but it got the job done. It removed my face makeup without stinging my face.

I don’t think I will repurchase these though. I like the Neutrogena ones better because they were more saturated with the makeup remover.

I wanted to try Krave Beauty products ever since they launched. But I decided to wait until their sunscreen came out and then place a big order. Krave Beauty is the skincare brand that uses mild products and is formulated to gently restore the skin on your face with mild ingredients. It is the brand that was created by Liah Yoo, a skincare guru on Youtube. I have been subscribed to her for a long time and I really respect her and the work she does.

She does amazing skincare videos with thorough research and I have learned a lot about various skincare products through her. She was the one who introduced me to the Elta MD Sunscreen!

So when she created her own brand of skincare I was all for it. I loved everything about it. The packaging, to the brand focus “Press Reset”, etc.

I knew she was formulating a sunscreen (because I follow her on Instagram) but unfortunately the sunscreen was not going to be available in the US due to FDA not approving one ingredient that is common in Korean sunscreens. And so unfortunately the sunscreen is only released in Korea, though I believe she is trying to get it released in the US, the process might take a while. So I just decided to purchase the two items that are available in the US.

The first is the Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser. This is such a unique cleanser. It is a gel based cleanser but the substance is kind of jelly like.

It smells like matcha and I’m all for it because I love matcha. It does lather up but does not create foam, just a bit of bubbles. It feels soft and silky when I rub it onto my face and when I wash it off, it does seem hydrating. Like it doesn’t strip my face of all the oil and does not make my face feeling tight.

I carry this cleanser it my gym bag and I love using it in the morning after I work out. I definitely will repurchase this product again when I run out.

The next product from Krave Beauty is their KalelaluyAHA. This is an AHA toner that acts as a mild exfoliant.

I really like this toner. This product contains 5.25% AHA and when I first used this product, it did make my face a bit tingly. So I used it three times a week as it is suggested on the box and the tingly sensation didn’t occur anymore. It left my face feeling smooth and I did notice that my texture was reduced as well. I think this product with the Drunk Elephant Duo worked together to really improve my skin lately. I have been getting less texture and significantly less breakouts!

I will definitely repurchase this product when I run out. I highly recommend Krave Beauty and if you want more information on the two products, check out Liah Yoo on Youtube!

The last skincare item that I purchased recently is the Mamonde Calming Hydro Sleeping Mask. A few weeks ago, my dad’s friend from college visited our house. He is a cosmetic scientist in Korea and was on a business trip in Houston. He discussed what he does and also what he formulated. He was a freelancer and whenever a specific brand wanted to make something like a CC cream or facial cream, etc., they would contact him and his lab to formulate the product. He said that he created products for La Mer, it Cosmetics, Amore Pacific, etc. So cool!

Anyways, he said the skincare product that he recommends the most is a sleeping mask. Instead of a nighttime moisturizer, he said that a sleeping mask is much more hydrating much more beneficial to the skin. He said any sleeping mask will do but the one that is more gentle is the Mamonde one. He also had very nice skin and so I decided to trust him LOL i mean he is also an expert so…

I got this product from Ulta. I didn’t know Ulta carried Mamonde. Mamonde is a Korean brand and although I have known about it for a while, I wasn’t quite curious to try it until recently.

I got this product I believe two weeks ago and I have been using it every night since. I have noticed a drastic change in my skin. My skin in the morning was much more softer and much more hydrated than before I used it. I put on a thin layer and really pat it into the skin so that it absorbs completely before I go to bed. It doesn’t feel sticky and so sleeping with it is not a problem. I really like this product but I want to try other sleeping masks before committing. I want to try the Laneige one as well as the Glow Recipe Watermelon one.

So yeah that was a lot of skincare products. I also have two hair products that I purchased from Sephora a while back.

These are two Briogeo products. I got the travel sized Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray and the Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Avocado Leave-In Defining Creme. I really loved the scent of the Rosarco milk. It has such a nice, delicious, sweet scent and I kept on smelling it on my hair throughout the day. It left my hair feeling softer as well. I am thinking about purchasing the full size but I don’t know…I’m debating it.

I also really liked the curl cream. I got a perm in April and though it is sort of fading now, but when I use the cream, my curls are much more defined and more lively. I actually have already added this product to my cart. I’m just waiting until I use up the Briogeo gel from my 23rd Birthday Haul/Presents.

This next product are some essential oils that I got from Marshalls. The brand is called Aroma Aria and it comes with five different essential oils. I have been feeling really stressed ever since I finished the MCAT to the point where I could not sleep or eat properly.

I have been battling with insomnia for sometime but it had gotten to a point where I would wake up every 2 hours. I tried taking baths, melatonin, but none of it worked and so one of my friend recommended essential oils. Lavender oil is supposed to calm the mind and relax the body and so I picked these up from Marshall. This product comes in a roller ball applicator and so I just rolled it onto my wrists and behind my ears.

But unfortunately, my stress and anxiety was so bad, it did not work. I still had trouble staying asleep and so I had to go to my physician.

Anyways, with that said, these roller balls are still on my nightstand and I like putting them on before I go to sleep. The lavender scent does relax me and there are also different scents like tea tree and orange that is supposed to energize and brighten the mind etc.

It is also nice to carry around in my purse as a quick wake-me-up-scent kind of thing lol.

Now we move onto the makeup portion of my massive haul!

This is the Peripera Ink Skin Tint in #4 Peach Tone Up. I have spoken about this product in my Monthly Makeup Commitment: July 2018

This is a tone up cream which is supposed to brighten up the skin before putting on other base makeup. This also contains SPF and just like other SPF sunscreen product, I have noticed that this product breaks me out. This is super disappointing because I really like the velvety texture of this product. It is a watery texture that goes on very smoothly and is very blendable. It does lighten up my face a little and it also works great to lighten up dark foundations. I used this product as part of my July M.M.C and mixed it with my Clinique foundation because the color was a bit too dark on me. However, I decided to give my foundation to my mom because I finally decided that I just don’t like wearing foundation.

And so I don’t really know what to do with this product. I might try it again now that my skin has cleared up from previous breakouts but I’m kinda scared that it might break me out….what to do…

I picked up this Wet n Wild Contour Brush from HEB. This brush is very soft and was so cheap! I think it was on sale for 69 cents! I highly recommend this brush! I use it as a highlighting brush because the angle is just right to apply my highlighter with ease.

I will definitely be going to HEB to pick up more Wet n Wild brushes from now on.

So I have finally ran out of my EGLIPS Powder and have purchased this Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. This product was definitely on my list for a while but I didn’t want to purchase it until I finished the EGLIPS Powder.

I like this powder a lot. It is very matte and gets rid of that shine instantly. It also sets my concealer very well. I did notice that it did leave my skin looking a cracked and Sahara desert like when I put too much on. So I just swirl my brush a couple of times, tap off the extra and just pat it gently across my face to set the concealer. It then does not leave my face cakey but a bit semi-matte.

The next product is a mascara. This is the Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara in Waterproof. I got this product because I had a coupon from CVS for $3 off of Covergirl product. So I think I got this mascara for like $3.

Unfortunately, this mascara gave me a stye infection. Literally the day after I used this mascara, my eye was all puffy and red. And so I threw this mascara away.

But it’s ok. I didn’t like this mascara anyways. It made my lashes all droopy. It was a waterproof mascara but it did not hold my curls at all. It also did not give my lashes volume at all either.

I also picked this Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color from CVS. I had a coupon for $4 off of any Revlon so I got this product for like $5. I got the shade Devotion and the color is a muted coral pink which is right up my alley. It also has a rosy undertone which is gives a perfect MLBB vibe.

This would be a perfect lip shade to wear to work or to interviews, etc.

And because I didn’t have a mascara anymore, I decided to return to my favorite drugstore mascara, L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise. This is the best drugstore mascara because not only does it add volume, it also holds up my lashes all day long.

I saw that they released a mascara primer/base and so I got that as well.

I love the mascara so much. It gives my lashes volume, makes them super black, and it also keeps my lashes curled. Cannot recommend this mascara enough.

The primer/base on the other hand, it is quite disappointing. It actually is too liquidy and heavy and so when I put it on my top lashes, it brings them down. It does not hold the curl at all. It smells kind of perfumy but the scent doesn’t bother the eyes at all which is good. I just wish it was a bit more light in texture so that my lashes don’t go down. Since it was still around $10, I am still going to use it for my lower lashes. I don’t usually put mascara on my lower lashes but honestly, I feel bad just wasting this product so….

I don’t recommend the primer/base if you have super straight an fine lashes.

I have never used a makeup setting spray before and I was always curious to try it. Jaclyn Hill raves about this Morphe Continuous Setting Mist for a good reason. This setting spray has such a beautiful spray nozzel. It is an aerosol spray like those Febreeze sprays and so it just spews the mist evenly across the face.

It does have a fragrance but it isn’t too strong and it doesn’t sting my eyes at all. I spray it all over my face after I finish my makeup and it really does make my cakey face all blended together into the skin. I was quite surprised how much I like this. I now understand the hype for setting sprays. This one is really great.

These next two products are the Clinique Cheek Pop in Ginger Pop and Sorbet Pop. I have been obsessed with these Clinique Cheek pops. I have been eyeing them for a while and I got an amazon gift card from answering a survey and so I went ahead and decided to get Ginger pop for around $19 on Amazon. This color was the first cheek pop that I got and I fell in love. The color is a nude coral color with a rosy undertone. It is a powder blush but it somehow melts into the skin beautifully and blends out really well.

This blush however is no longer in my collection because I gave it to my mom. She came into my room and nonchalantly told me that she ran out of blush so  I gave this to her. She really loves the undertone of this blush and it suits her really nicely. My mom has a slightly deeper skin tone than me and it looks really natural on her.

In early July, Clinique Korea released four new shades to their cheek pop line. They collaborated with four Korean Beauty Youtubers to make these shades that best fit the Korean market. When I saw that they were only releasing to Korea I was heartbroken. I searched high and low and found a seller on Ebay and purchased Sorbet Pop which was this gorgeous pastel orange peach shade that was in collaboration with Sunny from Sunny Channel on Youtube.

I love watching Sunny and she does amazing cover makeup tutorials. She is so talented and I was so excited that she did this collab.

Being the blush hoarder that I am, I wanted to get all four new shades but I held myself back and just purchased sorbet pop. I was kind of afraid that this blush would not show up on my face since I got a bit tan during the summer but surprisingly, I’m not tan enough because it still shows up. It is such a gorgeous shade. I love wearing it by itself as well as pairing with Melon pop.

I’m gonna collect these blushes now. ok. I’m sorry bank account.

Like I said earlier, I gave my mom my Clinique foundation. I’ve been actually foundation-free for a while but still kept the Clinique foundation just in case. But I came to the conclusion that I do not like wearing foundation so I just gave it to my mom (also because she came into my room and nonchalantly told me she ran out of foundation).

So I got this NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer in Vanilla. I remember Kathleenlights really raving about this concealer and how it is full coverage but gives a matte flawless, smooth look. I have been using the Glossier stretch concealer but that concealer is more on the dewy, light weight while this concealer is more matte.

The texture of this concealer is definitely more thick than that of Glossier but it is super blendable. It also leaves the skin matte and soft, just like it claims. It gives the skin a velvety texture and I really like it. It also feels like I’ve set the concealer with powder and it also is very long lasting. I used it on Sunday and I was running errands out but it still managed to stay on my face nicely.

I’m excited about this purchase and I think it was worth the splurge because I see myself reaching for this whenever I want a more full coverage concealer.

The last product was more of an impulse buy. It is the Kat Von D Tattoo liner in Mad Max Brown. I have been watching Serim’s Life or 샒의삶 on Youtube and she has been uploading vlogs from her Europe trip. She purchased this product in Sephora and she talked about how long lasting it was.

This liner is really long lasting although it isn’t a waterproof liner. I’m pretty surprised because it is sweatproof. I have been sweating all day but this liner stayed with me through it all. I am not a liner person but this makes wearing eyeliner so much easier.

Wow. So that was all the products that I have purchased recently…Well since the beginning of this year.

I really wish I can say that I will not be purchasing anything but that seems to be a lie so I’m not going to say it 😀

Anyways, thank you so much for reading if you got this far lol.

Definitely let me know if you have tried any of these products as well as your thoughts on it!

Monthly Makeup Commitment: July 2018

Hello! Happy July!! I cannot believe that it is already mid-July! Time flies so fast!

I usually post my Monthly Makeup Commitment posts in the beginning of the month but I was actually out of town vacationing with my family. We went to Niagara Falls in Canada and it was so beautiful!! It is just one of those sights that you HAVE to see for yourself in person. No picture and no video will honestly be able to do it justice.

Anyways, the reason why I do these Monthly Makeup Commitment posts is because I have way to much makeup for the average person and really want to use up all of my makeup items before I purchase more. So these posts are mostly to keep me in check and only use these specific products for the month and refrain from buying any more makeup. Although I have broken this many times, it still allows me to really use the products and form my opinion on them.

So as per usual, I will start in the order of how I apply them to me face.

First is primer. I actually got this product when Sephora was having that buy one get one travel size free deal. This is the Becca First Light Priming Filter. I got the full size product for my mom because she was looking for a primer and got this travel size for myself. This product is very watery and goes on like a light moisturizer. The color of this product is actually really beautiful. It comes out lavender-y purple with small shimmers but once applied to the face, the color disappears and I see nothing.

I don’t actually notice this product doing much for my foundation. It also does not give much of a glow on my face either. Honestly, I just put it on because I love how this smells. It has a vanilla/lavender/delicious scent that I’m not sure how to describe exactly. But it smells ssssooooo nice. And because it goes on the face like a light moisturizer, I use this product instead of my moisturizer in the morning. I don’t think I will repurchase this product when it runs out just because it really didn’t do much for me.

Because the Becca primer doesn’t really prime my face, I will be using the Touch in Sol No Poreblem Primer. I use the smallest amount and apply it around my nose and chin area where I get the most oily. This product goes on so smoothly and evens out the texture on my face. I really like this product because although it has that silicone-y texture, it does not ball up on my face like the Smashbox primer.

Because I use only a small amount of this product, I have a feeling this product will take me a while to finish. But so far so good with this product.

I usually do not wear foundation except for on Sundays for church since I feel guilty for having it haha.

I will be mixing these two products: Peripera Ink Blurring Skin Tint in #4 Peach Tone up and Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer in #01 Linen. I have gotten a lot paler since I graduated college (because I was working in an office with no windows) and so the Clinique foundation in the #01 shade is a bit dark for me so I add the skin tint to lighten it.

I wanted to try the skin tint from Peripera and purposely got the tone up color to see if it would actually brighten up my complexion. But because I was so pale, it was just the color of my face. GG

When I just applied the Peripera skin tint on my face it kinda started to break me out. I was so disappointed because when I had put it on, it went on so velvety smooth. It made my face feel like I have already set my face with powder. It was not sticky and really just sort of melted into the skin. But when I mixed it with the Clinique foundation, it didn’t break me out. Strange…idk if the Clinique foundation has some magical power that defends my face from the harsh chemicals or what but yeah…this combo works amazingly together. The skin tint lightens the color of the foundation and is a really good match for my face. The texture of the Clinique foundation is a pretty satin velvety finish as well and so they work well to make my face matte and smooth.

When I am not wearing foundation, which is everyday except on Sunday, I will be using this Glossier Stretch Concealer in Light. It got this product as part of my Birthday Haul which is coming up soon I promise. I am going to write my review on this product on that post so stay tuned!

Next is powder. So for those of you who read my latest post Recent Empties 2018, you know that I have finally used up my EGLIPS powder.

There were a few powders on my list that I wanted to try and one of them was the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent. This product has been everyone’s favorite at the drugstore. It is super affordable and really holds up to its claim. Stay matte. Yah. It stays matte.

I have been debating on either getting this or the Make Up For Ever HD Microfinishing Pressed Powder but decided to try this instead since it is soooo much cheaper. And again, I will write my review on the upcoming Recent Haul post that is also scheduled to come soon. Heehee.

Moving onto the eyes!

For my eyebrows I will be using another item that will soon be reviewed on the Birthday Haul post: Glossier Boy Brow in Black. Heh..I have a lot of work to do..

And then for eyeshadow, I will be using Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Wattles. This is a gorgeous pinky brown shade with tiny silver shimmers. The silver shimmer does not show up that much once applied onto the eyes. This color is honestly the easiest color to use on the eyes. I just apply this with my ring finger to my lid and blend it out with my pinky.

It has a creamy texture but once applied, it feels like powder. I have used this product for a while and though I love the color, I don’t think I will repurchase it again, maybe in the very very far future. I do really like this product but I just have so many eyeshadows that I need to use. But it is such a universal color and great for just an everyday quick and effortless makeup look. I highly recommend that you check this one out if you are looking to shop at Colourpop.

Next is another product from Colourpop. This is their Creme Gel Liner in Mr. Bing. This is the only eyeliner I have at the moment and honestly one of my holy grail eyeliner. This color was in collaboration with one of my favorite youtuber, Kathleenlights. I was so excited when she released this collab because I have been looking for an affordable brown eyeliner for so long. When she released it, I got it right away and have been using it ever since.

I actually got this shade and another shimmery shade but the shimmery shade hardened rather quickly. But this shade remained quite creamy…weird. This is a gorgeous warm brown shade that is flattering in almost every warm neutral eye looks (which is basically all I do). It applies so smoothly and gently on my eyes and when I tightline with this product, it does not transfer. I do have pretty watery and oily eyes and so I do notice it disappears after a while but I don’t really mind. It is easy to reapply if I need to but I mean I don’t really wear makeup for too long anyways so it’s really ok.

When I do run out of this product, I will be repurchasing it again. It is really an amazing product, I highly recommend this one.

Next up, mascara. No surprise here. I will be using the Etude House Dr. Mascara Fixer and tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara. I have to use the Dr. Mascara fixer when using this tarte mascara because the mascara is not waterproof. My stubborn straight Asian lashes do not stay curled up when a non-waterproof mascara is applied and so the mascara fixer is a must.

I really do like the tarte mascara, like I mentioned before in a past post. It really separates my lashes really well and gives them plenty of volume. I am seriously considering on getting the full size but in the waterproof formula.

Next is Bronzer!

I will be using the too cool for school’s Art Class by Rodin bronzer. This is a Korean brand that is famous for this neutral bronzer/shading/contour product for East Asian skin tones. There are three shades in the pan. It has a very neutral tone in the middle, a bit grayish almost and then a warm slightly deeper shade as well as a brighter lighter shade.

To contour my face I use the two darkest shade and to contour my nose I use the middle shade and the lightest shade. Out of all the bronzers/contour powders I have used, this product honestly fits my skin tone and skin color the best. Even when I am super pale I can use this and even when I am pretty tanned I can use this. This product is so versatile, I love it.

I highly recommend this product if you are looking for an easy bronzer/contour product to work with. It is pigmented but blends so well that it is quite easy to use.

Next up is my favorite makeup category ever: blush!

I will be using two blushes this month. The first is the Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam. This product will also be mentioned in more detail in the Birthday Haul post 😀

Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam

Another product that I will be using is the Colourpop Knockout Palette. This palette was actually a gift from my ex-roommate when we were still roommates (tanks buddy). This is the only powder products I own from Colourpop and I have to say, I really am impressed.

This corally orange blush is 100% up my alley and I love how pigmented yet how blendable the product is. I love wearing blush that packs a punch and this product allows me to build up but also apply soft whenever I feel the need to dial it down a notch.

The blush is on the right side and the product on the left is a highlighter. It is also the highlighter that I will be using this month. It is an orange-gold highlighter that is perfect for the summer. I have not played around much with the highlighter because I was too pale for it but hopefully I get a bit more tan during this summer.

Another highlighter that I will be using is another Glossier product. Haha. So many Glossier. And again, it will be mentioned in greater detail at the Birthday Haul post (maybe I should have posted that before this one :/ ) This is the Glossier Haloscope in Quartz.

Glossier Haloscope in Quartz

Last but certainly not least are the lip products for this month.

I will be using three products. Two bright orange shades and one nude shade.

The first is the Colorgram Thunderbolt Lip Lacquer in #4. I do have a review on the Colorgram Tints here. Go check it out 😀

Colorgram Thunderbolt Lip Lacquer in #4

I really love this product. It goes on very easily and also is very long lasting. I do find myself reapplying after I eat oily foods but I mean, I don’t mind because it is so comfortable on the lips. It goes on like a watery tint but has a slight gel-like texture. It doesn’t give me that butthole yogurt effect, at least not this shade.

This shade is a bright orange, almost neon shade that is perfect for summer. I love wearing oranges and hot pinks during the summer time.

The next lip product is a bit darker than the Colorgram tint #4. It is the MAC Lipstick in Barbeque. I got this shade as a free gift when MAC was having some kind of promotion. This is a hot red-orange shade that is also really nice for the summer time. I will usually just dab this onto the center of my lips after I apply the Colorgram tint to give sort of that gradient effect.

MAC Barbeque

This is a matte finish and is quite long lasting as well. I love wearing it on its own but with the tint, I get an even longer application so I love pairing the two.

The other lip product that I will be wearing, mostly on Sundays is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in London. This is one of the colors that I got from the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams Haul. It is a very nice neutral nude shade that is perfect for the casual make up look. It also pairs beautifully with the Colourpop Wattles shade.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in London

I also love the texture of this product. It honestly does not feel like I’m wearing anything on my lips. It has a velvety texture and a very light consistency.

Everytime I bust this color out, I sing the “London Tipton song” lol. You know, the one from Suite Life of Zack and Cody. “London Tipton’s really great! Really great! Really great! London Tipton’s really great! She deserves the opposite of hate! Which is LOVE!” LOL sorry.

Here are the products swatched in natural lighting:

Glossier Beam + Colourpop Knockout Palette in Natural Lighting
The three lip products mentioned in Natural Lighting

Anyways, that concludes the July 2018 Monthly Makeup Commitment post!

Thank you guys for reading if you made it this far and also let me know if you have tried any of these products. If you like/dislike them and why. Love to hear your thoughts.

And I will post the Birthday Haul and Recent Haul posts soon.

Recent Empties 2018

Hello! Long time no post!!

Now that I am officially unemployed, (WOOP WOOP) I have more time to post on my blog now!

It’s been a hard and very busy year so far and I have used up a lot of products. So lets begin!!

Sorry for the quality of this first picture..heehee I took this picture in my office while I was working so the lighting was terrible. But anyways, the first item that I used up this year was this Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Cream in Avocado Olive & Basil scent.

@letsgoctina Crabtree & Evelyn Avocado Olive & Basil Hand Cream
Crabtree & Evelyn Avocado Olive & Basil Hand Cream

The soap in our building bathroom literally stripped all the moisture and oil from the hand and so every time I washed my hand, my hands felt so tight and dry to the point where it would hurt. And so I had this hand cream in my pencil bag and it literally saved my hands. It was very moisturizing and absorbed into the skin pretty fast for a thick cream. The smell was a bit strong but not as strong as Bath and Body works lotion. It smelled clean and I really liked it. I got it as a gift a long time ago and though I would not spend the money to purchase it for myself, I think it would make a great gift to give to someone.

The next product that I used up is mascara. This is probably my favorite mascara from the drugstore. It is a bit more pricier than the other mascaras but I think it is really worth it. It is the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise in Waterproof. It does give my lashes volume and also makes them seem longer than they really are. It lasts all day and most importantly, keeps my lashes curled all day long!

L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara Waterproof

The only bad thing about this mascara is that the brush head is a bit big for my eye shape. I do have small eyes and if I’m not careful, I will either poke my eye or get some mascara onto my eyelids. But it is slightly smaller than the too faced born this way mascara and so I actually like this one better than that one. Also, even though this is a waterproof mascara, it does transfer a bit to the areas under my lower lash line. But this is inevitable for me since I do have very oily face and eyes. All waterproof mascaras give me this effect. Is there a waterproof mascara for oily skin that do not transfer onto the lower eye area? If so, please let me know. I need it.

This next product is one of my holy grail items. It is the Elta MD Skincare UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 Facial Sunscreen. Every drugstore sunscreen I have tried have broken my face out and have clogged my pores. I was so frustrated because I knew how crucial and important wearing sunscreen was. I have oily and acne prone skin during the summer times and living in Texas under the blazing summer sun, I desperately needed sunscreen. Then Liah Yoo, a skincare guru on YouTube did her favorite sunscreen video for oily skin. One of the product she recommended was this Elta MD product.

Elta MD Skincare UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 Facial Sunscreen

In her video, she said that this was one of the products that dermatologists recommended to oily, acne prone skin. This product has Niacinamide and Zinc Oxide, two common chemicals that treats acne as well as prevents future acne breakouts. I was hesitant at first because this sunscreen is around $32 for 1.7 oz. It is pretty pricey but I am so glad I made this purchase. I freaking love this sunscreen. In my opinion, it is so worth every penny.

It goes on like a lotion and really absorbs into the skin. It just feels like I am wearing a moisturizer and it also does not have that typical SPF sunscreen scent. And most importantly, IT DOES NOT BREAK ME OUT. The Niacinamide and Zinc Oxide was said to prevent any future breakouts and I have noticed that my skin broke out less. I mean I still got those huge pimples during that time of the month but other than that, my skin has been behaving so nicely since I have used this. And because it is quite moisturizing, during the summer, I just skip my moisturizer and go straight to this product. Surprisingly, it also lasted quite a while since I got this product around July of 2017. I finished using it up around March of 2018 so yeah it did last almost 8 months for one bottle.

As soon as I ran out of this product, I immediately repurchased it. I get mine from Amazon and I cannot recommend this product enough. If you have oily and acne prone skin and are wanting to invest in a good sunscreen, I highly recommend this one!

This next product is quite unfortunately made its way into the trash. This is the Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in the shade Get Leid. I have used this product a lot while I was working at the clinic because it was so easy to apply while commuting. I would do my makeup in the car and I have swiped this product with a very dense brush onto my cheeks. When I am in a hurry, I usually only put on blush, mascara, and lip so this product was used everyday for 10 weeks.

This poor guy however started to crumble off. At first I was confused and tried to press it into the pan since the product texture is malleable and quite spongey/creamy like.

Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Get Leid

But I guess this product was getting old or something…When I tried to press it into the pan, it started to crumble and eventually hardened to a crumbly powder. It felt kind of like those crumbling pieces of dried play-do, if you know what I mean…

Even though the pigment was still being transferred onto my fingers, I just decided to toss it cuz frankly, it grossed me out. RIP blush. May you rest in peace…in my trash.

Would I purchase this blush again? No probably not. I think Colourpop makes great products but personally I much prefer my blush to be either just powder or just cream. Not something in between.

The next product is something that is not unfamiliar in my empties post. This is the Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water with the blue cap that removes waterproof makeup as well. I really like this. This is my second bottle I believe and it just removes my makeup so easily.

Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water

It does have an oily layer to remove the waterproof makeup but it does not leave an oily residue like the Neutrogena makeup removers. This bottle also lasts a while as well and so I recommend this one over the Neutrogena.

The next product is Kirkland Daily Facial Towelettes. This product was actually from Costco, it came in a huge bulk box and my mom bought it to try and she also gave me a pack. This was…alright.. like ehhh. It didn’t really remove all of my makeup and it did kind of stink my face so I usually just used it to remove my lip colors or to just wipe down my phone because phones are dirty af.

Kirkland Daily Facial Wipes

I wouldn’t recommend this for sensitive skin types because it does sting. And also it is not as wet as other wipes like the Simple or Neutrogena ones from the drugstore so I think that was why it didn’t really remove my makeup. But its the perfect amount of wetness to wipe down your phone. hehe

I will not purchase this again but will use it to wipe down my phone and hands if my mom buys the box again from Costco. But my mom didn’t like it as well so…

This next product was actually in one of the product in my Korean Skincare + Sephora + MAC Cosmetic Haul. It is the Son & Park Beauty Water.

I believe this is the best seller from Son & Park. I have mixed feelings about this though. Many like it because it is so versatile to use. Some people use it as a makeup remover, toner, or just a very thin moisturizer. For me, I used it as a toner because it did not remove my makeup, it also did not keep my face moisturized.

Son & Park Beauty Water

It does not have any harsh chemicals and so did not strip my face or make my face feel super tight but when the product was absorbed into my skin, it did leave my face a little bit tight. I didn’t feel like this product was worth the high price tag. It honestly gave me the same effect as the Thayer’s Witch Hazel toner which is like half its price and for this I was disappointed. It wasn’t a bad product but it wasn’t the best toner I have used. I would rather spend the extra few dollars and buy the Missha Time Revolution essence than this one.

Also what I didn’t like about this product was the big gaping hole in which the product comes out from. The whole was pretty big and so when I tried to get it on the palm of my hand, it literally poured all over my vanity. A cotton pad was a must with this product and I don’t really like using cotton pads with my toner because I hate the feeling of cotton pads scraping against my face. So I would rather buy the Thayer’s Witch Haze which has a much smaller hole so that I don’t waste any product.

I think that is one of the reason why I used this product up so fast. It was hard to control the amount of product that came out.

The next product that I used up is the Origins Planscription Eye Cream. My mom gave me this eye cream a long time ago and I have finally finished it. This was quite a thick eye cream and so you only needed a tiny amount. I loved how it had a pump instead of being it in a jar. It was really easy to control the amount of product with the pump and so I really did enjoy using it.

Origins Planscription Eye Cream

I liked using this product during the winter times when I did have dry patches on my face. During the summer I only used it at nighttime and just the tiniest amount around my eyes. It didn’t sting or broke me out or gave me more millia. I don’t think I would purchase it again though. It is quite esspenssive…lols

The next product that I have used up is the Almay Shadow Softies in Peach Fuzz. This was an eyeshadow that I got probably at the CVS near my college during freshman year. This was a bright peachy shade that was stunning to use as blush and eyeshadow. I mainly used it as blush and I loved how coraly and peachy it looked. This product had a unique texture. It went on like powder but it had a slight jelly like texture in the pan. It wasn’t as soft as the Colourpop products and in my opinion, this product was much easier to use than the Colourpop products.

Almay Shadow Softies in Peach Fuzz

I had hit pan on this product a while ago and have since then used it so much, pieces of the product started falling off. And eventually I used all the product that was left.

I probably would not purchase this product again since I have so many eyeshadows and blushes. The color was really pretty though.

The next product that I have used up is the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing lotion +. This was a moisturizer that is very gentle to sensitive skin types. I had mentioned this in my Mini Haul a while back. I really liked using this product.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing lotion +

Like I mentioned in that post, it does have a plastic scent to it but it goes away once blended onto the skin. I loved how you could control the pump and the texture of the lotion was really nice. It wasn’t a thick cream but wasn’t completely watery. It left my face feeling moisturized but not too stuffy like a heavy cream. It was just the right consistency for my oily skin and it also hydrated those dry patches during the winter time as well. It also did not break me out so <3<3<3

I would purchase this product again but I am using another product at the moment..

The next item is the famous tarte shape tape concealer in the shade light neutral. This is probably the most raved concealer in the U.S. And for good reason. This is a full coverage concealer that does not crease, is easy to blend, and lasts all day.

Whenever I did not want to use foundation, I would just use this product under my eyes, acne spots, and just dotted the product around my face and used a wet sponge to blend it out.

It had a semi-matte texture and was really great for oily skin like me.

tarte shape tape concealer in light neutral

I have had this product for more than a year and I thought I should get rid of it lol. I mean I have used it all I think since not a lot would come out and when I swirled the applicator wand I could see that the bottle was being wiped. Like you could see that the bottle is actually a clear case as I was swirling and scraping the product off the bottle.

It had a good run, this shape tape. Will I purchase this again? Yes. But right now I am going through that natural no make up makeup look so I have been looking for a very light coverage concealer. But I mean I will probably purchase this concealer again in the near future.

Last but not least, I have finally used up the EGLIPS Blur Pact Powder in No. 23. This powder has been with me ever since I started this blog I believe. And I have to admit that this product fell apart even before I finished using it. I had hit pan on it a while ago and was using the products that were left on the outer ring of the pan. But one day, I noticed that a section of the pact was lifted out of its case. I gently pressed it down and then…all hell broke loose.

The pact shattered and the next thing you know, my vanity was attacked with powder. I tried dusting it off but eventually had to wipe it all down with a wet paper towel. The pan was all dusty and powdery and I just decided to dump it all in to the trash. I mean I think I used this powder for almost two years now…I guess its time to let go.

RIP EGLIPS Blur Pact Powder. You did good…you did good. This was truly a nice powder. It mattified my face quite instantly and although I didn’t really notice the blurring effect, it did leave my face feeling velvety and smooth.

I have purchased a different powder to use that was on my list for a while. There are so many nice powders out in the market and so I probably will not be purchasing this product again. But I did really enjoy using it.

So anyways! Finally I got to sit down and post on my blog. I missed posting on here just to talk about makeup and such.

Also I have started daily vlogging but this time I am 100% committed to vlogging everyday. Even though I won’t be doing much every single day, I still want to use vlogging as an excuse to not be a lazy bum. So yeah…

Please check out my vlogs and subscribe. I am thinking of doing like a beauty related vlog as well I don’t know yet. Maybe like lipstick swatches or whatnot.

Anyways, thanks for reading if you have gotten this far and I will write again soon!

Also, let me know if you have used any of the products I have mentioned and if you liked them/disliked them. 😀 Look forward to reading your opinions!

My Recent Empties

Hello! So this post is going to be My Recent Empties. I try to do these empties post whenever I accumulate at least 5 products. And most of them are skin care products because I go through skin care products much faster than I go through make up products.

But this first product is neither skincare nor makeup. I just included it in this post for me to remember LOL.

I went to a Vietnamese market place a few weeks ago and I saw this. Its a tea drink, kind of like Arizona but much better. They had all of the other Big Bang members on different bottles but I could not find T.O.P (which I understand)…But I got G-Dragon’s because I’m a HUGE fan. This drink was really sweet and delicious. I think it was around $1.50 which is more expensive than the Arizona can ones but I mean G-Dragon! LOL

The next product is The Ordinary “Buffet” Serum. They said that it is called a buffet because it contains various different peptides that is supposed to help with the skin’s elasticity.

The Ordinary “Buffet”

I really enjoyed using this serum. It has a bit of a chemically scent but it goes away after you rub it into the skin. My skin did feel very moisturized but I’m not sure if it helped with elasticity. My skin did seem to drink it up pretty well and I did notice my dry patches fade whenever I had used this so…I liked it.

I have not repurchased this because I’m still looking for the perfect serum for my skin. This was not bad and was pretty affordable so I will purchase this again if my search for the perfect serum fails.

The next product is also from The Ordinary. This is The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% serum.  This product is supposed to be used as a spot treatment for the acne regions of the face.

The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2%

I don’t have acne but I do have some trouble areas where pimples will pop out occasionally. I didn’t really notice this serum doing much. It kind of becomes foamy when you rub it into the skin (like the Niacinamide serum from the same brand) but it goes away once you tap the product in. It is quite sticky and so you really have to pat well for it to dry. Yeah I probably will not repurchase this because…it didn’t really do anything for me.

Next product is the Thayer’s Witch Hazel Alcohol Free Toner Rose Petal.

This toner is honestly the best toner to layer onto the skin. The nozzle is really small and so I don’t need to use cotton rounds and I just pour a bit onto my palms and slap it onto my face. I do this about three times and it really feels like it has penetrated into my skin. It has a lovely scent and I usually put this on right after cleansing. Day and night. It is affordable, there is quite a bit of product, and hydrating.

Thayer’s Witch Hazel Alcohol Free Toner Rose Petal

I have gone through 3 bottles of this toner. I always try out different toners but I always come back to this Thayers one since it is so good for the price. I don’t notice it doing anything like clearing up my skin or any fancy schmancy stuff but it does hydrate my face and leaves my face nice and fresh.

The next product that I used up recently is this Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash. I am still on the hunt for the perfect affordable face wash that does not leave my face feeling tight and dry but still cleans my face really well. I had used the ELF one before this and that was was ok. I like the Simple one better than the ELF cleanser because of the consistency. The Simple one is a bit more viscous than the ELF one and it doesn’t foam up as much. If the cleanser foams up after lathering, it probably means that it will dry out the face afterwards.

Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash

This cleanser reminds me of the Cetaphil one in that the consistency is quite similar. The Cetaphil cleanser is a bit more watery than the Simple one but the amount of bubbles that they create are about the same. They both leave my skin feeling a bit tight afterwards and so I am still going to try other face washes.

Liah Yoo, a Korean Beauty/Skin Care Youtuber, recently came out with her own Skincare brand called Krave and I really want to try her cleanser and the toner. I probably will purchase the products next month because I have no money….

For now I am using my brother’s Cetaphil cleanser…

The next product was actually a mini sample that I got from my Mini Haul. This is the Olehenriksen Truth Serum. This serum was actually not bad at all. It was pretty light and had a citrus scent to it and was quite lovely to put on in the morning.

Olehenriksen Truth Serum

Even though it was quite a small size I only needed one pump per day and this little bottle lasted me the entire month of December. I thought about purchasing the full size because I liked it so much but dang….its essspennnssssiivvveee.

I am going to try to find a different affordable serum because…yo girl got no money…

The last product is actually my makeup remover. I forgot to take a picture of the used up one and had thrown it away…so I just took the picture of the replaced one heehee.

This is the Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water. This is my second bottle and I honestly like this better than the Neutrogena Eye Make Up Remover. This is not as oily as the Neutrogena one and does not leave a greasy film on my face.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

It also had like this Maybelline Great Lash mini mascara attached to it…I have never used this mascara before but I know its like the OG mascara that everyone used to use back in the day..lol

I am currently 1/3 done with this bottle LOL because I got this like in December? or so? Anyways this is a great make up remover that removes ALL of my makeup. I just put some on a cotton round and wipe away all of my makeup. I then follow up with my cleanser to remove any residues that I might have left on the face.

So yes. This is it. I hope that wasn’t too long.

Thank you so much for reading if you got this far and I believe my next post will be my Monthly Makeup Commitment post for February. Wow..I cannot believe that it is almost February. Dang 2018 is going by pretty fast already. MCAT is less than 2 months away. OMG.

Anyways, if you have tried any of these products please let me know what you think about them. Also if you know any affordable makeup cleansers and serum for normal to combination skin, please let me know!

Korean Skincare + Sephora + MAC Cosmetic Haul

Ok. So I have been meaning to post my Korean Skincare Haul for some time now since I got the products I believe in the last week of December or the first week of January. I can’t remember but I have been using them since I got them so hopefully I can provide you some kind of a review. Heh..

Also I am just going to add my recent Sephora and MAC Cosmetics Haul in this post as well.

The first product that I got was Son & Park’s Beauty Water. They actually sell this product on Sephora but I got mine from Jolse. I believe the price is much better on this website. It is shipped from Korea and so the shipping does take a long time, about 1 to 2 weeks but so far I haven’t had any problems with them. I usually get all my Korean skincare/beauty products from this website.

Son & Park Beauty Water

Son & Park are Korean makeup artists that started their own brand and this product, The Beauty Water is one of their best sellers.

On the box it says that it is “a smart cleansing liquid made from natural plant extracts that gently cleans, exfoliates and moisturizes to deliver smooth, revitalized and hydrated skin.” I have been using this because my toner had run out (Empties post coming soon haha). And I have to say that its a pretty good toner. Most toners, even if they are alcohol-free kind of evaporates fast and leaves my face a bit dry and tight. But this one still lingers a bit more than the others and feels quite fresh. I still apply my Clinique moisturizer after since the toner does disappear after a while. It also smells kinda bit like Sprite…Idk if that’s just me but it has the same smell as the IOPE Tinted Liquid Rouge in No.1 Pink Bouquet that I am using this month (Monthly Makeup Commitment: January 2018) LOL idk…

Overall I do like this toner but I’m not sure if I would repurchase it. The bottle is really pretty and chic but the nozzle area is a pretty big hole. Like where the product comes out. The hole is quite big and so I have to use a cotton round with the product, like I can’t just pour it out onto my hands to just apply straight to my face because then the product will spill everywhere. I don’t like that because I am too lazy to get a cotton round and I feel like I am wasting the product. But aside from that its not a bad product. I don’t notice my face being exfoliated but it leaves my face hydrated and fresh. When I run out, I am just going to purchase the Thayers one that I like….half the price, more product, does the same job.

The next product is the J.One Jelly Pack. This product is also sold at Sephora but I got mine from Jolse. I think at Sephora they sell it for almost $40 but I got mine for $22 at Jolse…

The brand J.One is actually a Korean Skin Care brand created by the very famous and very beautiful actress Ha Ji Won. She is honestly like one of those people that DO NOT AGE. People say that Asians don’t raisin but like seriously? I still cannot believe that she is almost 40. Like what? She looks like she’s in her 20’s still. This is a picture of her in her new (?) current (?) drama Hospital Ship. I haven’t seen it lol…

Image result for 하지원 병원선

She explained in an interview that this Jelly Pack is supposed to be a skin care mask that you can use in the day time and it is supposed to keep the skin hydrated through out the day. It also says in the box that it is a collagen booster that is supposed to keep the skin plump and maintain it’s elasticity. But a lot of Youtubers uses this as a primer and I think it works really well as a primer too. It is quite sticky which kind of threw me off at first but because of it’s sticky consistency, it holds onto the makeup very well.

J.One Jelly Pack

I use two pumps to apply it before makeup. I tried it before Sunscreen but it kinda clumped up with my sunscreen. I think that was because my sunscreen is kind of a moisturizer so it kinda was unable to sink into my skin. This pack creates a layer or like a barrier around the skin and keeps all the moisturizer + toner beneath. My skin feels extra hydrated after I use this. I really love using this as a sleeping mask as well.

I did notice my skin glowing and my makeup last longer when I use this. I will definitely purchase this again once I run out. The smell is kinda…ehh…it kinda smells a bit like glue not gonna lie. It’s not a pungent smell but if you are very sensitive to scents like me, it might throw you off. However, my nose is quite sensitive but the scent doesn’t linger for too long. I definitely recommend this product if you are looking for a primer + sleeping mask.

One tip that Ha Ji Won gave when using this product, because it is so sticky and jelly like, it will not work pretty well if you rub it into the skin. She says to place the product and just tap the product into the skin. It works best this way.

Next product is 1/3 makeup items that I will be purchasing this year…haaa I said that I would only purchase 3 makeup items this year…and I bought 2 already… #GG

It is the Touch in Sol No Poreblem Primer. LOL I just now realized that this product is also sold at Sephora but I got mine from Jolse for around $11. I’m not sure how much it costs at Sephora…

Touch in SOL No Poreblem Primer

On the box it says that it is “a primer with light an silky texture that erases the appearance of pores and fine lines.” And it does just that. I only apply this where I have large pores and where I get oily (around my nose and between my eyebrows). It leaves the skin very silky and smooth which makes apply concealer very easy. It also has quite a lot of product (30 ml) since I only use it for my nose area. This bottle will probably last me for a long time 🙂

Now I am going to share what I got from Sephora and MAC.

The only reason why I placed an order on Sephora was to claim my Beauty Insider Point Reward. I got an email that they were putting the YSL Ultimate Lip Sample Kit as a Reward for 500 points. I had 517 and I was saving them for something special. HAHAHAHAHA YAAASSS. I have always wanted to try the YSL lip products but dayyyy essspennnnssssiiivvvveeeeeee. So I used my points. And I also needed an eyelash curler so I got that too. Also there was a promo to get a trial size Marc Jacobs Le Marc (one of my favorite lipstick is the Marc Jacobs Le Marc in the shade Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) if you spend $25 so I threw in a Sephora sponge hehe.

Shiseido Eyelash Curler

I needed an eyelash curler because the one that I was using (the E.L.F) one that I got for $1 was so hard to use now. It was good when it was freshly bought…but now every time I used it, I had to part with at least 2 of my precious eyelashes…

So I wanted to invest in a good eyelash curler since I use this every single day and I wanted it to last for a long time…

I now understand why this eyelash curler is all the hype. IT IS SO EASY TO USE. IT FITS INTO MY EYE SO WELL AND I DONT HAVE TO PART WITH MY PRECIOUS EYELASHES.

Sephora Sponge

And this is the sponge. I haven’t used it yet so I don’t have much to say. The price is pretty similar to the Real Technique’s sponge which I am using now. I will update you after I use this but I probably won’t use it anytime soon.

YSL Ultimate Lip Kit

This is what I have been waiting for to be honest haha. I am not going to count this lip kit as one of the 3 makeup products since I mean I got them for free…you know?

The kit included four lip products and at first I was kind of disappointed at the size of them but I mean…I rarely go through lip products so it is a good way to try them out.

Marc Jacobs Le Marc Slow Burn

This is the promo lipstick that I got for spending $25 haha. One of my favorite lipstick ever is the Marc Jacobs Le Marc in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang because of the color so I wanted to get this one to try. I love the formula of the lipstick. It’s matte but not totally matte, it is very comfortable to wear and I am quite excited to try this one as well.

As for my 2/3 makeup product for this year…haaaa

So its quite a long story…MAC was coming out with a new limited collection named Lunar New Year 2018. I have been eyeing the collection since December when I saw it on my instagram feed. I even marked the day of the release January 18th on my calendar. BUT THE WHOLE COLLECTION SOLD OUT IN LIKE 5 MINS!!! And because I was at work I could not go to the local store in time…

I had managed to place the blush in my cart and then I added the MAC Relentlessly Red lipstick that was on my wishlist for a while and then proceeded to check out. When I finished paying, I saw the receipt and thought that it was odd because they only charged me $18. I was confused because I thought maybe there was a discount? BUT NO. THEY FREAKING TOOK THE BLUSH OUT OF MY CART BECAUSE IT HAD SOLD OUT!

I am incredibly sad that the collection has sold out and I am now just waiting for people to start finding dupes for it haha.

MAC Cosmetics Relentlessly Red and Strobe Cream Sample

So the shade I got was in Relentlessly Red. This is quite popularized in Korea because it is known as IU’s lipstick. It is a gorgeous bright pinkish red color that just turns the light onto the face. And I got a mini sample of the Strobe Cream. I have always wanted to try it and so I am quite excited.

I did swatch them in natural lighting 😀

Swatches in natural light

So that was everything that I have purchased in December and January….

I hope you enjoyed this long post…

Let me know if you have tried these products and how they work/ed for you.

The next post will be my empties post 😀

Monthly Makeup Commitment: December 2017

December is already here! I can’t believe it! It seems like this year just flew by even though during some of the days it seemed so long. So much has happened this year that I just cannot believe 2017 is going to be over soon.

Anyways, enough rambling…This post, as you can see by the title, is my Monthly Makeup Commitment for December. I will be using these products and these products ONLY for the month of December.

The first item is no surprise…my Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in the shade Light Neutral. This is my favorite concealer, out of the ones I’ve tried at least. It gives a medium to full coverage and leaves a pretty matte finish without being cakey. I have pretty oily skin but these days my skin has been getting a bit dry around the nose and chin area so I have been avoiding putting too much on. However, it is quite easy to blend and I just use my Real Techniques sponge to blend into my face.

tarte shape tape
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in Light Neutral

I use this under my eyes, down the nose bridge, my problem areas around the cheeks, and a little bit between my eyebrows. And of course, no foundation.

I feel like I am running out of this concealer and so if I do I will use the Clinique foundation that I got in my last haul. But I think this will last me for this month though.

Next item is of course my Eglipse Blur Pact Powder in the shade #23.

This product and the bronzer below will probably show up on my M.M.C’s a lot until I use all of it.

Anyways, I love this powder. It mattifies my face and keeps the oils controlled. Very good. Will recommend. Moving on. (I’m surprised I haven’t hit pan on this yet).

Next is the NYC Sunny Bronzer. I keep using this because I feel like I will use it all up very soon but yet it is still holding on to dear life.

I honestly don’t think I can use this all up this month…maybe in January? I kinda want to use a different bronzer next month though…eh..We’ll see.

Next are my blushes. I decided to use two blushes because they compliment each other so well. The first blush that I will put on, as a base color before I powder, is the Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Shocking Coral. Like I mentioned in  My Blush Collection post, I like using this lipstick as blush.

Maybelline Shocking Coral
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Shocking Coral

It gives a beautiful bright pink color and I just make three dots on my cheek (after concealer) and use my finger to blend it out. And then I will use my Eglipse Blur Pact to powder. I will then use the bronzer and then apply the other powder-type blush.

The other blush is the Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in the shade paaarty. This is a toned down nude shade with a slight hint of berry color and it is more rosier than the Maybelline Shocking Coral and so I just top this blush on the apples of my cheek to give it a more flushed look to the face.

After blush, I will put on highlighter. And this month I will be using the Ofra Cosmetics Highlighter in Beverly Hills. I got this product from a Boxycharm box last year and to be honest, I got the box because they said they were putting this item in the box. I have been wanted this highlighter but it is a pretty pricey product. So I was so happy and excited when they said they were going to put this item in the box.

I love how it has five different shades that you can custom to your liking. I mostly just use the shades all mixed without the bronze shade because it makes it too dark for my skin tone. However, the bronze shade is so creamy and buttery that it will work perfectly as an eyeshadow.

When the four lighter colors are blended, it creates a light pinky-rose shade and it is beautiful. The highlighter is not glittery or chunky but leaves a beautiful and beaming sheen to the face. When all five colors are blended, it creates a beautiful rose-gold shade which also looks beautiful as an eyeshadow.

Next are the eye makeup. The eyeshadows I will be using this month are the three gorgeous colors from IBY Beauty in Three’s Company. I also got this in one of the Boxycharm boxes last year (I believe in the same box as the highlighter above) and the colors are so up my alley. It is also very easy to travel with and very convenient to use since the three colors are perfectly curated for each other. They are very, very pigmented and a little bit goes a long way, especially with the brown shade and the gold shade.

I usually mix the two outer shade, the cream shimmer shade and the brown shade and put it all over my eyelids. The cream shimmer shade doesn’t show up on my skin that well, while the brown shade is super pigmented. So I just mix the two shades (that’s why the cream shade is a bit brownish LOL) and blend it onto my eyes with my blending brush. It creates a satin brown shade because the brown is a matte shade. And then I use the golden shade with my finger and tap it on the center part of my lids. I then blend it out with the same blending brush I used previously.

And for eyeliner and my eyebrows I will be using products from Colourpop.

I will be using the Colourpop Creme Gel Liner in Mr. Bing to tight-line my upper lashline and the Colourpop Precision Brow Colour in Dope Taupe to fill in my eyebrows.

The gel liner is very smooth and easy to apply. After I tight-line my lashline I extend the tail out and make just a straight line.

As for the eyebrows, I just use a flat square-like brush that I got from Michaels for like $2 and lightly fill in my brows. I have enough hairs but I have small bald spots and so I just use this product to fill in those bald spots.

There is a trend in Korea to put a shimmery shade to highlight or emphasize the under eyes. They believe that emphasizing the small under-eye fat part, or the aegyosal in Korean, will make the person look more youthful and brighten up the face since it will emphasize the eyes. But I don’t like to put it on the eye bag directly. So I tend to apply it close to my lower lash line and blend it out.

For this I will be using the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow in Kitten Karma. I absolutely adore this product. This is one of my holy grails eye product and I love how shimmery and glittery this is.

It is a stunning peachy-gold shade that is packed with gold glitter. I just use one dot close to my lower-lash line close to the inner corners and blend it out with a Q-tip. One dot is more than enough to get that beaming glittery look. I sometimes will also use it on my eyelids to be a bit more extra 😀

I will then apply my favorite one and only L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara. I love this mascara because it gives my lashes so much volume as well as length. It also keeps my lashes curled ALL. DAY. LONG.

When I was working the at the clinic, this mascara made me look so much more awake than I was lol and also did not smudge or budge AT. ALL.

I cannot say anything bad about this mascara. I highly, highly recommend this if you are looking for a good affordable mascara.

Last but not least are my lip products that I will be using for this month. I decided to commit two lip colors, one nude and one bold color. I will be using that Tarte Tartist Lip Paint in the shade Birthday Suit (that I got as a birthday gift from Sephora with the Tarte blush) and MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo.

The Tarte Tartist Lip Paint is a liquid lipstick that leaves a pretty matte finish on the lips but it still transfers a bit. It is a MLBB color and on me it matches my lip color pretty closely. It also smells very minty which goes away after a while but it doesn’t tingle the lips which is good. I like the color because it is so easy to wear. The doe foot applicator is pretty long and flat which makes application super easy.

I love MAC lipsticks. I think they are one my favorite lipsticks out of my entire lipstick collection. Since it is Christmas time, I am going to wear this gorgeous blue-tone red. Ruby Woo is a cult favorite and for a good reason. When I tap this product onto my lips and blend using my finger, it leaves a reddish pink color that instantly brightens my entire face. This is my favorite way to apply this and I will just add a bit more to the inner part of my lips and blend it out (a gradient lip). I have applied the lipstick fully all over the lips which also looks amazing and it leaves me feeling very powerful lol.
